Guide
How to write a good image prompt
A clear prompt names what is in the picture and how it should look. You do not need long or technical wording; you need the right few details.
- Start with the subject: who or what is in the image and what they are doing.
- Add the setting and the light, for example soft window light, golden hour or a clean studio background.
- Name the style or medium: a photo, a flat illustration, a watercolor, a 3D render.
- Say what to keep out of frame if a detail keeps appearing.
- Change one thing at a time when you iterate, so you can see what each change did.
Different models read prompts differently. If a result is close but not right, try the same prompt on another model before rewriting it.
